Dr. Gerardo Sandoval Isaac is a gynecologist, published author, medicine man, and friend to the toads. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and is proud of his Mexican heritage. He is the author of “Bufo Alvarius and the Entheogenic Experience”, “The God Molecule”, and “The Bufo Medicine Codex: Guidelines for the Proper Administration of 5-MEO-DMT from the Sonoran Desert Toad”. He has traveled to over 49 countries, and has facilitated over 7 thousand sessions in a 16 year time period. He facilitated Mike Tyson’s experience and healing, has been a guest on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ Podcast and was featured in Viceland’s Hamilton’s Pharamocepia Episode “The Psychedelic Toad”.
He is devoted to his practice as a gynecologist, administering sacred medicine and spreading the light of the toad. Early on in his life he recognized the healing powers that psychedelics hold. He ran away from his home at the age of thirteen and traveled to Real de Catorce to seek out the hallucinogenic peyote cactus. After falling in love with peyote and seeing its healing ability he became a local guide in Real De Catorce taking travelers into desert to experience the magical cactus. At the age of eighteen he decided to become a medical doctor and left the desert to go to medical school in Juarez. After medical school he moved to San Jose Del Pacifico, Oaxaca where he was introduced to the powerful Oaxacan magic mushrooms. Oaxaca is also where he first met the toad. After many heavenly experiences with the toad and witnessing how it could transform lives he set out on a quest to share this unique medicine with others. He is a pioneer of toad medicine administration.
Dr. Sandoval Isaac stands firmly against the facilitation of toad medicine in the United States and those that illegally practice in the United States. After first hand experience he witnessed many “facilitators” and “coordinators of psychedelic events” misusing the medicine for profit in unsafe practices with a complete lack of respect for the medicine and where it comes from. Many of whom took it upon themselves to ruin his reputation by way of propagating racist stereotypes and spreading lies in pursuit of their own self interests as “facilitators”, while lacking the medical training and experience to give the medicine safely.
Dr. Sandoval Isaac is passionate about environmental issues surrounding the toad and its habitat. He only obtains his medicine from the ranch he owns in Sonora, Mexico. The toads that live on his ranch are free range and can come and go as they please. They are milked once a year and left alone for the rest of the year to live happy and free. When toads are over milked they produce higher amounts of bufotoxins and less 5-MeO-DMT in the their venom. If someone is unaware where their medicine comes from and does not understand the science behind extracting it could lead to potential fatal outcomes if smoked. Dr. Sandoval Isaac asks people not to obtain their medicine online through the black market or through so called “collectors” in Sonora. Many of these collectors sell medicine for low prices but it is of poor quality and the sale goes on to support unethical collection methods. Buying toad on the black market is linked to supporting dangerous illegal activities. It also encourages collectors to travel into unsafe cartel territory risking their lives to collect the medicine.
